Wool Soakers preview

A friend who owns Alfalfa and the Sprout just sent me pictures of the 2 wool soakers she has donated!!! SO stinkin' cute. If you cloth diaper your kiddos... you will be drooling and maybe even if you don't.

First up is a size small wool soaker.
Measurements:

Waist: 10"-14
Rise:16"
Thigh: 6"-10"

Then we also have a medium dino soaker.
Measurements:
Waist: 12"-16"
Rise: 20"
Thigh: 8"-12"

As a general rule you can take or leave my opinion but I think they are both pretty gender neutral and would look adorable on ANY fluffy butt out there.

Sunday Morning Preview

I think many of you know that I have a couple of friends who have little ones with cystic fibrosis. It is a cause very near and dear to my heart... raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to find a cure for these beautiful kiddos. Well my friend Lora introduced me to Kristy who offered to make a donation to the auction. She has a son named Jude who has Cystic Fibrosis. If you don't know much about CF... definitely look it up. It is a genetic disease that creates incredibly thick and sticky mucus in one's body. It affects the lungs, pancreas, and the digestive system. These kiddos and adults have to have a lot of medical treatment and take a ton of medications every day to help them absorb the nutrients in food and to be able to breathe and clear their lungs out. Kristy's business Jude's Cure helps her support her family but she also donates 10% of all proceeds to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation so that their great work in finding a cure for children like Jude (and Alyssa and Ryan) can continue. So I am incredibly excited to have this piece in the auction and introduce people to her business.

What a build up! Up on the auction block will be a Pinafore (it is a top, not a dress... that is the word on the street. We all know I have boys and know nothing about girly stuff) in your choice of material and size (6mos to 3yrs). These little beauties are reversible too!

Collector Barbie preview

True story right here. My mom used to buy me collector edition Barbies thinking I would be amazingly interested in them one day and um... that never really happened. The good news is that I have quite a few special edition barbies that have never been removed from their box... So since they have just been sitting in my closet in a box for ages... I thought maybe I could put them in the auction and have them help a girl get to Ghana. So here is my whole barbie collection...

So heres what I have... I have all 3 in the Avon Spring Collection. These are called Petals, Tea Party and Blossom
I also have quite a few of the winter series that Avon had.
I have the 1995 Winter Velvet Doll
The 1996 Winter Rhapsody Doll
The 1998 Winter Splendor Doll

The 1999 Snow Sensation Doll
Then I just have a few Special Edition Dolls

2000 Timeless Silhouette
1999 Angelic Inspirations Doll
1997 Avon Exclusive 1st in Series Mrs. P.F.E. Albee (and my fave... she is cool)...

Auction Preview... art style!

So... who loves art? I DO! Not sure what you all think but I love me some art. The traditional, the quirky, the colorful... I pretty much love most art. That is why I was SO excited when my high school english teacher told me she would donate a piece of art work. Mrs. Alsop (sorry... can't call her anything else, its just weird) is a very talented artist. And you know what is super cool about her, she picked up this pursuit after she retired from teaching. I find that so cool :) Anyway, my brother called me yesterday and said "Man, I thought you told me Mrs. Alsop (his high school english teacher too) was donating one painting... Steph said she dropped off 5 or 6!"  I almost squealed right then and there.

She told me I could do whatever I wanted with them so I am trying to figure out how to split up these beauties. I am thinking of putting MOST of them in the auction but am also considering doing a give away too. What do you think. Anyway... preview time:

Yellow Hibiscus, matted pastel

Rhododendron, matted pastel

Worship, framed acrylic (my personal fave... just sayin')

Pottery Display, matted pastel

Garden Door, framed acrylic

Gift of Love, 3 Magi, print

Blue Angel, framed acrylic (I also like this one a lot)

Welcome friends from The Hook Up!

GIVEAWAY OPEN!

Ah, its finally time for the giveaways! I just want to say welcome to you all making your way over here from The Hook Up's giveaway extravaganza.

Up for grabs is the very awesome book called "Jantsen's Gift" by Pam Cope. I just got done reading it and it is an absolutely fabulous book/story of how people can make a tangible difference in this world and how giving to others can help us overcome a lot in life.

Why is this book important to me? Well because it explains quite a bit about how The Village of Life in Ghana came about and the plight of children being trafficked on Lake Volta in Ghana. I will be heading to Kete Krachi in November to work at this orphanage and with the children on Lake Volta. I will be telling their stories, learning from them and loving on them. To get there, we need a lot of help. So you get one entry into the contest simply by following my blog. You may have an additional entry for donating any amount to either the school fund or my travel expense fund.

Here is more information about this trip... Please help out this great cause if you can. God has no desire for children to be stripped of their childhoods and forced to work in slavery... and you can help us help at least some of these kids and continue to spread the word to everyone we know about the plight of these children. Knowledge is power people. The more who know, the more children that can be rescued.

Thank you so much for participating in this giveaway! Be sure to go back to Heather's blog and let her know how many entries you have. You HAVE to be a fan of Heather's page to participate in this giveaway... she is the one running it and the tally will be taken on her page.  The winner of this book will absolutely be blessed by Jantsen's story

Also take a look around this site and check out some of the exciting things we are going to be have going on. An auction is coming up in June and you can get front row seats by going HERE and liking our page!

Auction Preview: fluff style!

I know all my cloth diapering buddies know what this means... I got fluffy mail that needs to be shown to you! Special, soft, delicious fluff. You have to forgive my photos though. These are poor quality, I know. I will have better pictures for the actual auction, promise. But I HAD to show you :)
Up first is a pair of longies with a matching hat. I will get the measurements but my guess is that the longies are probably 3 months-ish sized... Lora correct me on that if I am wrong!
And next is a pair of toddler shorties.
Both of them to me look very gender neutral to me... I am known to put my kids in purple shoes and pink shirts though :) (both are boys).

These were donated by my friend Lora... her very talented Mama made them.

T-shirt design contest

Who would be interested in a little... contest? I am wanting to have a t-shirt design contest for our trip so that we have t-shirts to sell. I was thinking you could have 2 weeks to design a shirt then we would have a week of voting. You could get all of your friends to vote for your design. Um and the winner would get... a free shirt and some other prize that I haven't though of yet. Oh and bragging rights... which if you are like me and are competitive all you need is bragging rights. Whatcha think?

Be creative! And have fun. Those are the rules. The theme is "ending child trafficking (in Ghana)" with an emphasis on how we can all have a role in it or make an impact.

If you are interested  please leave a comment so I know what kind of interest level I have. The more the merrier, like usual.  Also if you know friends who would like something like this, please let them know about this contest.

Beautiful Custom Jewellery *yea, that't how the Canadian's spell it

My talented friend Jessica is providing one auction winner with their own custom piece of jewellery. Her pieces are beautiful and creative and you can work directly with her to come up with a one of a kind design that you will cherish forever!

Mom, daughter, and doll aprons for the auction!

My friend Amanda made these precious aprons for the auction. If I had a daughter and dolls... I would be outbidding everyone for them.

Here is Amanda's daugher, G, modeling her apron and doll!

And G by her pretty self modeling the Apron

How it ties in the back!

There is an equally beautiful Mama apron to go along with this set as well. I, however, do not have photos of that one yet.

Preview of Auction Items

So... I only have a hand full of auction items right now but enough to give you all a little look see. So... here you are... a preview of some of the items to be auctioned.

First up are a few items donated by my friend Tammy. Suncare and shower gels from Sephora. Good stuffs!

This little dress was made by my friend Heather who is the owner of The Hook Up. The girl is straight talented and can make anything. Her tag says 18 mos but I think it fits more like a 12 month so keep that in mind when you bid.

Next are several items from Urban Lily (formerly BIJOUX by DKG)

The following items were made by a good friends mom. They are beautiful!

I hope you have enjoyed this short preview we have many many more items to come :)
